Right now I am totally crushing on my Marvin Gaye Pandora station. Yes, I pay for Pandora. I have 5322 songs on my iTunes, and I pay for Pandora. I listen to Pandora everyday. You know what? I need music, I live and breathe music. I have heard so much about children not having music on all the time. Well sorry, I can’t do it. Music is in my soul. And without it I am soulless. OK not soulless, but when I’m feeling down, inevitably I think, oh wait, there’s no music on. And with these mid-western gray skies……
The beauty of Pandora is it does all the thinking for you. I never thought I would say this, but I have WAY TOO MUCH MUSIC! I can’t even figure out how to organize it anymore. I have been listening to some of the same playlists for two years because the thought of reorganizing is over-whelming. Well, not anymore. I haven’t used my iPod in months, because with Pandora you think of a song, or an artist, type it in, and the playlist is created for you. You don’t even have to pay for Pandora, it’s free if you don’t mind commercials. That’s how they hooked me, because once I got into it, I used it for everything, on every device. If you’re gonna use it to put your little one to sleep, you can’t have “Joe’s Crab Shack” screaming out after 5 songs. Trust me, not a good tactic. So I pay. And I don’t regret one dollar. Oh and by the way, Pandora is not paying me for this. This is my own rant about how I need music, and anyone who says I have too much music on for my child’s well-being can explain to me how I turned out so well. Yes, I am the product of a father who had to have music on all the time. So many great memories….

So here’s my faves on Pandora; Marvin Gaye (haven’t had to thumbs down one song yet!), Brandy (you’re a fine girl) it’s a great mix of oldies and R&B, Heavenly Lullabies (perfect for putting the boy to sleep), The Girl From Ipanema (what can I say, gotta have me some Brazilian music), oooh Hot Rod Lincoln is way fun for the boys, and for the mellower times I have Johann Sebastian Bach. Get you some Pandora, you won’t regret it! And if you have it, I would love to know your favorite stations!
